Olifantsrus Camp

Situated in the wilder, more remote and previously less-utilized western section of the park, Olifantsrus is approximately 60kms from Galton Gate, 130kms from Okaukuejo and 50kms from Dolomite Camp. The camp opens at sunrise and closes at sunset as per the general park regulations and day visitors are only allowed to use the picnic facilities up until 16h00.

The key attraction of Olifantsrus is the state-of-the-art hide looking out over a waterhole where you can sit and watch the animals undisturbed. Shy species such as black rhino and black-faced impala are well-established in this quieter part of the park.

There is an information centre and a small kiosk selling snacks and drinks (only cash is accepted).

Camping

Olifantsrus Camp is the only place to camp in the western side of Etosha Park, opened in 2014 there are only 10 camping sites at Olifantsrus with a maximum of 8 people per campsite and no other accommodation.
